13 Weeks :: Continuing the baby makin'

One site (babycenter.com) is telling me I still have a week to go until my second trimester, while another site (thebump.com) said my second trimester starts today. Color me confused.

How far along?13 weeks.
Size of baby: A peach!
Total weight gain/loss: +2 pounds.
Stretch marks? Nada...yet.
Sleep: It's ok. There have been a few nights I've slept through the night....then had to dash to the bathroom because I was literally going to pee my pants.
Best moment this week: We got a card from my parents in the mail. It was so sweet and my mom wrote how she was so excited to be a grandma. Brought a tear to my eye.
Movement: Not yet. Anxious for it though!
Food cravings: Nothing on the reg. But I sometimes crave random things that Tyler then has to bring home.
Sex: Don't know yet!
Labor Signs: Oh no no no.
Belly Button in or out? In!
What I miss: Let's be real. I just want a drink.
What I am looking forward to: Our next appointment!
Weekly Wisdom: Sleep is heaven. Get as much as possible.
Milestones: Had my blood test last weekend {I'm terrified of needles and blood and hospital settings, good news since I'm pregnant, right? Ugh.} and I didn't faint! Probably just because I didn't even look at the needle in my arm, but still.

  1. I had to get blood drawn last week. I hate it too though I admit it does seem to get easier. And no I NEVER look at it. Keep my eyes closed and just breathe the whole time :)

  3. Sounds like you're doing good! Glad to hear it!

Yes, the transition into 2nd trimester does seem a bit confusing. I've seen 12 weeks, 13 weeks, and 14 weeks. I even saw somewhere today that it switches over at 13w4d or something random like that?! What?! Gahhh... I say- you're in your second trimester! YAY! :)

I understand how you feel about having blood taken. I am horrrrrible about it. When I was younger I was really bad- I have puked while having blood drawn, and I have passed out while having blood drawn. (numerous occasions for both, actually). But I have been doing really good with it since the pregnancy started. Yesterday though, she took FIVE vials. FIVE!! I thought I was going to die right then and there, but thankfully I survived.

  6. I think the switch from 2nd to 3rd trimester is different everywhere too.

I'm not good with needles at all. I never look and will only go to one place to get blood taken by a certain person because I know she's good.

That said, I survived a "lovely" 2 day hospital induction, bloodwork, IV, pitocin, epidural, massive blood loss and the works while in the hospital. You'll get through it and you'll do great! It's worth it in the end. I'm sitting here with my 6 week old on my lap and would do it all again for her.
