You think you know, but you have no idea. Or, how the Garner's met :: the official story.

Happy love day all you lovers out there. I hope you all have a fantastic day planned with your significant other, family or friends.

To celebrate love and this joyous occasion... ok, barf... the truth is, I used to suck at love. Rather, I just didn't care. Until I met Tyler of course. *cue cheesy love song

I don't believe in soul mates. I don't believe in love at first sight. I am, however, a firm believer in once you know, you know. Doubt leaves your mind and you cannot imagine a single day without this person in your life. That's Tyler and I. Two peas in a pod. The peanut butter to my jelly. The pickles to my Snooki.

Tyler and I became an official couple on October 22, 2005. We didn't meet face to face until December 30 of that same year. SCANDALOUS.

Let me back up.

2005 was the year I graduated from high school and I was getting extremely anxious to move out, in to the dorms and start life as a college undergrad. I was riled up! Single and ready to mingle and all that jazz {I watched Chicago over the weekend sooo that's where that came from}. ANYWAY, this was all happening at a time when MySpace was in it's prime and late that summer I got a friend request from some dude named Tyler from Virginia, I said yes and the rest was history. We began messaging back and forth. Turns out, he had searched for his ex-girlfriend--who's name was also Brittany Blanchard...I'm not kidding--but found me instead. Messaging turned to texting and before I knew it there wasn't a night we didn't speak on the phone.

At the time, Tyler was playing college football in North Carolina but had been contemplating a move to California--where his grandparents live--for quite some time. He said he needed a change of pace, I said Chico, he booked his flight.

It used to be hard for me to tell that story. I mean, in all seriousness, who the hell meets the man they will marry on the internet when they're only 18?! It felt weird to me, so I just never shared it. But now, thinking back, we beat incredible odds. No, it wasn't always easy breezy, but I don't think I ever doubted he was the one I would be with forever.

And here we are, over five years later, married and as happy as we've ever been. Take that statistics!

So thank you other Brittany Blanchard, for existing, having an awesome name and dating my husband. Thank you MySpace, for connecting people. Thank you, Tyler for being the most incredible man I've ever met and loving me for who I am. I love you babe!

  4. I seriously think online dating is THE BEST. People who think it's strange need to try it. I've met my BEST (and worst) boyfriends online (but mostly my best). In fact, I've had a BEESSSTT friend for over a year now. We talk ALLL DAYY LONNNGG. He's the perfect best friend. I can't imagine anything without him (no, we're not dating nor will we ever)...but have we ever met? Nope. I love it.

    Happy Valentine's Day
