Goodbye, 2009.

{gotta love sloppy drunk new years kisses...}

We rang in 2009 partying with my parentals. But I gotta say, my 'rents are a pretty good time. We also gambled and snuck into a private party, such rebels.

January marked my first time ever snowboarding....and my last. I. Was. So. Bad. No joke, picture a fish out of water flopping around in the snow. It was embarrassing. And to top it all off, I could barely walk the next day from being so sore. The good news was we were staying at a friend's cabin in Tahoe so the nights were full of gambling and drinking the pain away. Next time I'll go...and I'll just hang out in the lodge.  But god, it sure was beautiful. If you ever get a chance to ski/board/fall on your ass at Heavenly, do it! {Just to see the views :)}

The month the Snuggie and I became one. {and I was brunette.}

And the sweet book light! Good god, I look utterly pathetic. Hahah. Anyway, I turned 22 and this was the best present I have EVER received.

The infamous spring break took place. And it was one of the best times of my life.

Ahhh, take me back. :)
This trip was amazing to say the least, but I would say March 2009 was the best and worst month of my life. When I returned from my trip, Tyler and I went through a very hard time. I'll spare details, but I learned things about myself that I never thought were possible... I wasn't as strong a person as I thought I was. I was in a very dark place and to tell you the truth, it doesn't even feel like that was a part of my life. On the positive side, I learned so much. About myself. About other people. About love. About relationships. About life.

A good chunk of these months was spent trying not to tear up about the impending "G" word. Graduation was coming and everyone was leaving except me {woooo 5th year senior... ugh}. So we tried to live it up as much as we could without failing classes. ;)

{shrine de Dustin, my mom's cur-aaazy}

My brother graduated high school! So crazy. I don't know what I'm going to do when Babyhead graduates in a year and a half. They are growing up so fast!

{My not so little youngest brother, Eric aka Babyhead and my cuzzy}

Not to mention, I finished 9 units in four weeks...so much for enjoying my paid month off...haha!

My July was jam-packed!

4th of July was spent with Tyler's fam. So much fun. His mom and youngest bro and sis were in Cali visiting from Virginia. I'm hoping that sometime in the next couple years they will be living in CA so we can see them more often. :) The second picture actually ended up being his grandparent's Christmas card...no big deal. ;)

{4th of July evening, cannon ball contest}

{Have you ever seen anything cuter? Awww}
Tyler's fam also came up to visit and stay with us for a few days! We strolled Farmer's Market, ate yummy food, and had an all-around amazing visit. Although, I was straight stressed the entire time.
I guess I needed everything to be perfect? Sounds ridiculous now.
The rest of the month was spent doing some of my favorite things:

{prego? naaah. beer belly.}

The end of the month marked Tyler's 23rd so we had a little weekend getaway to Reno.

{don't judge the myspace pic}

This was our first trip away together by ourselves. Kind of silly after so long but it definitely won't be the last. :)

{Tried sake for the first time, not a fan}

Trip to Virginia! Minus the humidity, I had so much fun. We ate copious amounts of fish tacos on the beach and visited with Tyler's mom, brothers, and sister.

We attended a wedding in VA. Didn't know a soul there but I got to meet a ton of Tyler's high school friends, which was great.

And we went to the aquarium! :)
August also marked the beginning of my last fall semester E V E R!

Labor Day is kind of a big deal in my book.

This was also the first reunion since the girls moved away. So we celebrated! Drinking and floating, oh the college way of life. :)

And a Niner game for good measure.

School, school, school! Gross.

With an amazing Halloween thrown in.

And another reunion.

Ahhh finally finishing my last fall semester EVER!!! One more to go, wha whaat!!

Tyler grew a mountain man's beard.

Christmas!
My family is kinda-sorta dysfunctional. In a "Griswold Family Christmas" sorta way. But this kid right here keeps me grounded. I would be lost without him. And my dad, who always manages to make people laugh. I love my mom, but she is nuts. Don't tell her I said that.

Tyler's momma came to visit! Bearing gifts...Wii sports resort and Wii Fit...mwahaha. Love this lady and so lucky to have her in my life. Oh, and him too.

:)

Sorry for the picture overload. I think it's safe to say I'm ready to leave 2009 in the dust and grab 2010 by the balls. Who's with me?!

December 30 Ad. What advertisement made you think this year?

Talk to the moose ah ah ah MOOSE! Ok, so it didn't make me think but I sure loved it when I saw it come on the TV. LURVE IT!

On a slightly unrelated note... is it really the last day of 2009 tomorrow?! Holy hell where did this year go? What are your plans for tomorrow night??

Best09: Belly Laugh

I'm participating in Best '09 started by Gwen Bell. It's a super sweet way to look back on your 2009.

~~~~~~~
December 29 Laugh. What was your biggest belly laugh of the year?
Well, it started with this skit on SNL:
And continued with this:
Basically you have to watch the video to understand the picture.
Tyler and I watched SNL laying in bed, died laughing at the aforementioned skit. I went pee. When I got back there was mustard in my bed.  I dropped to the ground and cried tears of hilarity.
"Mustard in my bed" {in high pitched, nasal-y voice} became my instant keel-over-and-die-of-laughter-go-to. Hilar. Still makes me laugh.
Obvs you may not find this quite as funny as we did but maybe you giggled...not a lot babygirl, just a lil bit...a lil giggle? no? fine! :)
Hellooooo world
This past week has been a whirlwind.
Christmas eve morning I headed to the parental's to help my mom bake. Took a nap instead. Sorry mom. ;) My aunt's house for whore-dourves {ha!} ;) and gifts that evening. THEN. We strolled back up to my parent's house and what do my wandering eyes do appear....
STEVEN. The Army brother. Sitting at my parent's kitchen table. COMPLETE SURPRISE. We seriously had no idea he was coming. He got leave for three days to come up for the holidays. I was super shocked/super stoked. We stayed up drinking, talking and playing games all night.
This Christmas was pretty great.
And today, Tyler's mom came to visit from Virginia. It's a long, long story but it's great she's here. One of the strongest women I know, fo sho.
Now we're watching The Birdcage and drinking wine.
Life is good.
